Why do I
have to re-enter the Player Profiles for each Tournament? |
 |
|
|
Where did my Player Profiles from the last Tournament go to?
- There are actually two database Tables one for the Player
Profiles and another (mirror) separate table for the College Coach
Search Engine.
- When you enter your Player Profiles for each tournament, they
are also copied (upon creation) into the College Coach Search
Engine database table. Each time you edit a Player's profile for
the current event, the
program must find that players mirror profile in the College Coach
search table and edit it as well.
- So in order to edit a Players Profile in the mirror table,
then the program search's the College Coach Search Engine and
finds that record by Player Name then Team Name and finally by
current Event (Tournament).
- Therefore before the next Tournament starts (and after this
one begins) we must empty the
profiles for the last event (Team Profiles Database Table Only) in order to
setup the next new events profiles for the College Coach Search (When
you create the new profile it again copies itself with the new
Rising Stars event into the College Coach Search Engine), which is the most
important reason for the Tournaments in the first place.
- This is necessary because some events have a Player on more
than one Team and because we want to keep historical data by Team
and Player for all the Rising Stars Events that the Player has
attended. If we allowed you to keep a Players profile and just
change the event attended then all players would look like they
have only been in one event to the College Coaches who search in
their database table.
I hope this makes sense for you!
