Dell Latitude XP Portable Computers with Docking Stations on 98 SE

On some early Dell portable computers, you can experience problems if you start the computer while it's attached to a docking station and a PCMCIA card is inserted in a PC Card slot.

Although the PC Card (PCMCIA) is detected by Windows 98 Second Edition, the card will not function.

To work around this problem, eject
the PC Card and reinsert it. The computer and PC Card should recover.

This problem does not occur in later Dell BIOS versions. For a BIOS upgrade, contact Dell Computer Corporation.
