My keyboard is not detected when I turn on my
computer?
Checking keyboard/mouse connections (PS/2)
1. Switch the computer off .
2. Verify the keyboard is connected properly to the computer and reconnect
it if necessary.
3. Check to see if the LED lights flash briefly when the computer is
powered on to see if the keyboard is receiving signal.
4. Check for bent or missing pins on the keyboard connector and correct if
necessary.
5. Try to install another keyboard on the system or install the defective
keyboard on another computer, if available, in order to verify whether the
original
keyboard is defective.
6. Unplug the mouse, if this fixes problem, order a new mouse.
7. Continue to step 8 if all of the above has failed.
8. If the keys are non-functioning check the following:
- a. Verify the keyboard is connected properly to the computer and
reconnect it if necessary.
- b. Check to see if there is any debris in or around the defective keys
and remove (i.e. spilled coffee, soda, etc.).
- c. If the key is stuck, depress it several times in order to loosen it.
